The College of Policing is reviewing existing police guidance for all aspects of major investigation and public protection. This review is on behalf of the National Policing Lead for Violence and Public Protection, with the Crown Prosecution Service and others. The Authorised Professional Practice (APP) on managing sexual offenders and violent offenders is under development. It will be available for consultation from July 2014 until September 5, with publication on the APP website in the fourth quarter of 2014.
