Northants business date

by Mark Rowe

Northamptonshire Police will host a business security conference at force headquarters on Tuesday, February 24, from 9.15am to 4.15pm.

The event is aimed at giving local businesses guidance on protecting their business from cyber-attack. It will also help shape the force’s business crime strategy and will include presentations. The conference starts with a welcome from the Police and Crime Commissioner, Adam Simmonds and the Deputy Chief Constable, Martin Jelley. Detective Constable Neil Cahalin is a Digital Media Investigator at the force’s Cyber Crime Unit and has organised the event.

He said: “It is absolutely crucial that businesses across the county understand the importance of cyber security. A leading spokesman from IBM will give the global picture of the very real risks all businesses face, no matter how small they are. Cyber-attack can be ruinous and can even lead to bankruptcy.

“Those who attend the conference will learn what the risks are and will find out how to protect their businesses from them, including details of the software technologies available to keep their company’s data safe.”
