Interviews

ST15 Bristol

by Mark Rowe

Whether you want to get up to date with what products and services are available, hear from industry speakers, network with other installers, security managers, consultants and specifiers, or just get away from your desk for a day or even half a day, visit ST15 Bristol.

It’s the latest in the Security TWENTY 15 series of conference-exhibitions from Professional Security magazine, and it’s running at the Bristol city centre Marriott, on Wednesday, April 15. That’s the same venue as the spring 2014 ST14 event.

As at other ST events, the day is free to visit, and that includes coffee and snacks first thing and in the mid-morning break, and a buffet lunch. To register visit the events page on the website, or email event organiser Liz Lloyd at [email protected].

Speakers include Vince Donovan, the south Wales-based former policeman now a trainer in lone worker safety and conflict management; Mike Gillespie of Advent IM, the cyber-security consultancy; and the private investigator Richard Newman, a former president of the Association of British Investigators (ABI), also a trainer and assessor. There will also be manufacturer updates from Y3K, Canon, Xtralis, Axis Communications and Arecont Vision and the conference like ST15 Nottingham in February (see the March print issue of Professional Security for words and pictures on that event) will be chaired by IPSA chairman Mike White.

The other ST15 dates are July 9 in Newcastle and October 28 at Heathrow. As with all the ST events, there’s a networking dinner for exhibitors and guests the evening before. And courtesy of Y3K, a indoor Go-karting championship is running at the Teamsport Karting Track in Bristol on Tuesday, April 14, from midday. Aimed at installers and their customers, drivers can win prizes – the driver will win a Porsche Supercar track day while the company they represent will win a selection of Dewalt tools; all courtesy of Y3K. For more about the karting, visit https://professionalsecurity.co.uk/go-karting/.

The conference is sponsored by Y3K, the dinner by Canon, and the lanyards and goody-bags for visitors by Anixter.
