Railings for Reds

by Mark Rowe

The fencing manufacturer Zaun has provided spectator railings for the under-21 Manchester United side and their Premier League division 2 counterparts from Blackburn Rovers.

Zaun has supplied 150m of its Duo8 FA-approved 1m-high spectator railing in black, with 12 single gates for installation at Leigh Sports Village near Wigan, pictured. The £50m multi-use sports, retail and housing development was opened by the Queen after the biggest investment in public sports, recreational and educational facilities in Wigan borough for years.

As well as the two football teams, it is home to Leigh Centurions Rugby League Club and Leigh Harriers Amateur Athletics Club. It includes an 11,000 capacity stadium, 400m running track with covered sprinting area, sports pavilion, floodlit grass and third generation artificial sports pitches and the Leigh Indoor Sports Centre, with 25m pool, sports hall and Profiles gym.
