Employee scheduling savings

by Mark Rowe

JD Security has selected SmartTask, the employee scheduling and remote workforce management solution, for rostering of its officers. The company will use the system, from the cloud based software supplier Skillweb, to allocate and confirm required staff, in particular for dog handling and event management.

SmartTask will replace a legacy workforce management system that Kent-based JD Security says no longer meets the business and operational needs. The company is now able to effectively create work schedules and email rosters direct to employees, automating a process that was previously completed manually. The security contractor will use the reporting package to verify timesheets and resolve any payroll disputes.

The Whitstable security company is also looking to adopt the MySmartTask support and messaging app, which will enable officers to view their latest rosters and confirm availability for work shifts via a smartphone. The product developers say this will further streamline staff scheduling and roster confirmation, providing the option to accept or decline shifts with a tap of the phone.

Adam Chapman, Operations Manager at JD Security Limited said: “SmartTask is already making my life a lot easier, saving both time and money, and enhancing the management of remote resources. Being a web-based system means I have the ability to access it wherever I am, while I have found the scheduling and reporting functionality to be flexible and easy to use. We expect SmartTask to become an important tool within our business, which will support our overall strategy moving forward.”

And Paul Ridden, Managing Director of Skillweb said: “SmartTask has been designed to help companies gain competitive advantage by taking control of their security officers to deliver higher levels of service, operate compliantly and make the most of their assets, while at the same time streamline processes to achieve cost, time and resource efficiencies. In particular, intelligent rostering streamlines and simplifies the planning and scheduling procedures, significantly reducing the time and cost required to prepare, communicate and confirm rosters.”
