IFSEC is the occasion for awards and ceremonies; Professional Security magazine attended some NSI presentations at their stand at the June 2016 show.
Integrated Visual Protection Limited (IVP), based in Charlton, south east London, collected four golds – for fire, guarding, alarm receiving centre (ARC) and Nacoss gold as an installer.
Stratford, east London-based STM was collecting guarding gold. The firm began in 2005 and is approaching £30m turnover and about 1500 staff.
And the Liverpool-based fire and security installer HESIS picked up their recently-awarded NSI NACOSS Gold. Pictured are Marcus Newton, southern region director and Barry Juggins, MD, with Richard Jenkins, right, NSI CEO.

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) during IFSEC launched its Powered Gates certification scheme, with the trade body the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF). The two worked for two years on the development of their Powered Gate Code of Practice (DHF TS 011:2016 – Code of Practice for the Installation and Maintenance of Powered Gates). The NSI certification scheme is based on that code. Installers and maintainers of powered gates, barriers and gate automation equipment are now able to obtain NSI approval for their services.
