by Mark Rowe

Skills for Security has appointed Joey Hambidge, pictured, as Operations Manager. That’s a new post to provide the Worcester-based organisation with operational support. His broad remit includes accreditations, apprenticeship standards, qualifications and the day-to-day management of SfS’s operations and staff.

He has a background in training, course design and employer liaison. SfS’ Interim Director General, Peter Sherry, said: “2017 is set to be an exciting year for Skills for Security as we gear up to provide guidance and support to security employers ahead of the introduction of a new apprenticeship standard.

“As such, we are very pleased to welcome Joey to Skills for Security, where his extensive experience of employer liaison and course development will help us to develop our current offering while better meeting the needs of the security industry as a whole.”

Joey adds: “I’m looking forward to working for Skills for Security to improve diversity and inclusion in apprenticeships, both in terms of core training content and the overall diversity of apprenticeships. It’s my goal that, by working closely with employers, Skills for Security be recognised as industry leaders for new apprenticeship standards within our sector.”
