Prize essay

by Mark Rowe

What is the Islamic State? How is it different from Al-Qaeda? That was the title of a winning essay in a competition by the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals‘ Charitable Trust. Each year it awards a prize to a student attending the MA Course in Terrorism, Security and Society at the Department of War Studies, Kings College, London. The 2017 winner is Elliot McArdle.
