Delegates will examine measures proposed in the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill, the impact of changes to the framework of data protection for policy and regulation as well as for commercial sectors in the UK, and implications for consumers and privacy.

Discussion will also assess how reform can help the UK maintain adequacy and support trade agreements and international relationships, while at the same time ensuring high standards of data protection rights.

There will also be discussion on key issues for future uses of data in scientific and commercial research, and the way forward for smart data schemes and digital verification services.

Further sessions will examine public trust in the data protection framework, as well as protection for data subjects’ rights.
