Job Description

JOB MISSION

The mission of the embedded Systems Engineer is to provide technical expertise in identifying and evaluating systems and procedures that are effective to meet user needs. They plan and coordinate security system service issues. The Systems Engineer works with other systems, facilities, voice, and network professionals as required to coordinate efforts and resolve cross-team issues. They may provide consultation to users regarding automated systems and lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues. They are predominantly responsible for the curation of the architecture and server infrastructure acting as the technical escalation point for technical resources on the team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Requires experience with Microsoft operating systems (WIN10, Server 2008, 2013, 2016 & 2019)
  • Good understanding of IT networks – LAN/WAN, Intranet/Internet, Firewalls
  • 5+ years of Security Industry Experience
  • Working knowledge of variety of Physical Access Control & CCTV Systems (OnGuard 8.0, CCure9000 3.0)
  • Strong organizational & clear communication skills
  • Excellent MS word and MS Excel skill sets
  • Good understanding of MS SQL Databases
  • Self-motivated requiring little or no direct supervision.
  • They must demonstrate strong multitasking ability to manage multiple different tasks
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills

 

 

DUTIES

Essential duties of the position include:

  • Oversee the configuration and deployment of servers, storage nodes, and other related systems.
  • Deploy appropriate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Provide support and maintain an enterprise backup solution.
  • Provide support and guidance to other technical resources within the team to resolve server or storage problems.
  • Support the IT Administrator, Network Administrator, and other Systems Administrators in resolving system issues, especially when end users are affected.
  • Implement required operating system updates and patches to servers and storage nodes.
  • Provide general system administration, including management system monitoring, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Assist with the management and implementation of server security procedures.
  • Lead the research, design, and deployment of new technical services, applications, and procedures for long-term Server infrastructure optimization.
  • Recommend and implement any server software maintenance, patching, and performance tuning to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Must coordinate updates, outages, maintenance windows, and other potential service impacting activities could disrupt the availability of critical systems.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for incident resolution and root cause analysis for server, storage, and network related issues.
  • Build, package, and implement Operating System Images and Ancillary software.
  • Design, install, configure, and manage storage systems of various scales across multiple vendor solutions. Configure and manage SAN/NAS storage replication and snapshots.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in science, technology, or engineering or equivalent experience

Lenel Certified

CCure9000 Certified

Valid driver’s license

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of enterprise level security systems such as Lenel OnGuard and Software House C*Cure are extremely desirable.
  • Understand segmentation or partitioning in a system.
  • Experienced in configuring networks.
  • Experience and understanding of enterprise system architecture.
  • Working knowledge of windows operating system, word processing & Excel spreadsheet skills are absolutely required.

 

TRAVEL

Travel may be required for certifications and system commissioning. Up to 30% travel.

 

WORK AUTHORIZATION

Must be authorized to work in the US.
