At the 2014 World Cup, the Brazilian Army has been deploying Mobile Platform C2, a military truck, run by the Special Operations Command (COPESP). The vehicle integrates the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) with C4 (Command, Control, Communications and Computers). The system integrator Equipe Engenharia won this project of the Brazilian army, and VIVOTEK’s local distributor Alca Network provided the products. VIVOTEK provided around 300 units of the SD8363E model, a camera in the SUPREME series that has 1080p Full HD resolution and real-time H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG compression. Operators used the 360 degree continuous pan and 220 degree tilt, to monitor inside the stadia.
Claudio Freitas, the Colonel of COPESP, said: “There was a lot of tension leading up to, and during, the World Cup. It is an international event, and we knew that the entire world would be watching. Thus, the real-time security control is crucial. The players did well on the centre stage, and behind the scenes, my COPESP personnel also did an amazing job ensuring that the venues were a safe place to enjoy a football match.”
Guilherme de Mello Barandas, Diretor Comercial at Alca Network, said: “It was a pleasure working together with VIVOTEK and the Brazilian brigade. The cameras came in, were quickly distributed, and performed up to expectation. The entire process played out like clockwork.”
