Advance Security has been praised for its operational approach by the assessors, Insight Certification, following the results of a recent independent audit, to confirm its SIA Approved Contractor Status (ACS).
The report, which was completed against pre-determined criteria, found that Advance Security’s overall score has risen by 10pc since its last audit in March 2006, when it was originally awarded with ACS. In addition, six elements of good practice were highlighted and have been pointed out to the SIA. These were:
New business implementation processes
Electronic control of documents through the intranet portal
Extension of blackberry site visit system
SIA licensing department and the controls within
The holistic approach to Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and corporate social responsibility
Focused approach to training – particularly BTEC in shopping centres
Alongside its encouraging results, Advance Security was given no mandatory requirements for improvement, a rarity following an ACS audit, according to the firm.
Compliance director of Advance Security, Chris Palmer, said: “We are, of course, delighted with the results of this audit, albeit not completely surprised. This year Advance Security has taken significant strides forward in innovation, to create solutions that not only address the situation fully but also provides good value for money. We are working closely with our technology team to ensure our offer is entirely comprehensive – which is rare in the security industry. Our corporate social responsibility programme ensures that our workforce is a satisfied one and that, in turn, means that they are motivated and committed to the task. So even though retaining Approved Contractor Status is a good thing, it was not entirely unexpected.”
