Security sounders made by audio/visual signalling manufacturer Klaxon have been chosen for installation inside a new apartment block in Manchester.
Installer Altex chose the Minn-XE due to its sleek and compact form, which makes it unobtrusive, according to the installer. Consequently, it is suitable for fitting in a residential environment, even though sounders of this type are more traditionally fitted on external walls, the installer adds.
Alan Carvin, Altex’s Senior Partner, said: “From a technical point of view the Minn-XE was the ideal choice because the small size of the device lends itself to installation along building corridors. We were also impressed with the styling, which is very important where the unit is fitted in close visual proximity to the residents.” Kristian Johnson, Klaxon’s Marketing Manager, said: “This is an exciting development as the Minn-XE has never before been used internally on a ‘per apartment’ basis where each apartment has its own dedicated strobe/sounder unit.”
The Minn-XE, part of the Flashguard C-Series, has a two-part assembly. The cover offers an area for screen printing not found elsewhere on a similar size sounder, it is claimed.
