B&Q Guard

by msecadm4921

DIY retailer B&Q has chosen VSG as its sole national provider of manned guarding services.

This covers more than 340 Supercentres and Warehouse Stores, some 10 distribution sites and nine corporate locations. The contract, which will employ more than 480 staff across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland will be rolled out in May and June. VSG were chosen, following a selection process led by B&Q’s profit protection and procurement Teams, based on a combination of commercial and operational considerations, the guarding firm reports. Leon Barwell, VSG’s Sales and Marketing Director, said: "We are extremely pleased and proud to have been awarded such a prestigious contract, not least because of the level of competition that we have had to overcome during the process. B&Q rightly demand the highest standards of service and we look forward to working with them, providing an effective service to complement their core business.”

VSG, formed in 2000, recently moved to a new head office in Northampton, incorporating a remote monitoring centre. The company now employs 2700 staff around the UK.
