Civil Contingencies

A former Lancashire Police officer has taken a newly set up post as Lancaster City Council’s Civil Contingencies officer.

Mark Bartlett, based at Morecambe Town Hall, will work in Health and Strategic Housing Services His job is to ensure the council is prepared for any emergencies, and to comply with the Civil Contingencies Act. For the last five years he chaired LANMIC (Lancashire Major Incident Coordinating Group) a team comprising all organisations that would deal with a major incident in the county, such as hospitals and utilities. LANMIC has produced plans and training courses and organised emergency planning exercises throughout the county.
