The National Commercial Crime Intelligence Forum is holding its quarterly meeting in Birmingham, on October 5.
It’s been running for nearly two years now. Its purpose: to share crime intelligence and best practice. Members are senior security managers with national responsibility on the high street including, banks, building societies, jewellers, chain stores, with representatives from several police forces, crime reduction agencies and other crime reduction specialists.
Founder members identified that the same gang of criminals were attacking their varied retail outlets across the country – close co-operation and sharing of intelligence between the various police forces and retailers developed and has continued since the gang was arrested. Tony Mitchell, a former chairman of the Institute of Security Management, is the secretary and Paul Loakes the chairman.
