Crime Papers Call

The International Crime Science conference 2008 is calling for papers.

The ICSC 2008 event will be held on July 17 and 18 at the British Library, London. Organisers report that it is supported by the Home Office, the Office of Naval Research Global and the US Department of Homeland Security The ICSC brings together practitioners, manufacturers and academics developing the latest techniques, technologies and strategies for increasing security and reducing crime.

Practitioners, academics and students are invited to submit a 500-word abstract describing current and future developments in technology and methodology including examples of collaborations between practitioners and scientists.

Major themes of the conference: anti-social behaviour, crime, organised crime; and terrorism.

Papers describing research relating to the (a) prevention, (b) disruption and (c) detection of the above can be submitted.

Topics may include, for example, cyber-security, bio and chemical sensors, surveillance, biometrics and forensic science, and cases from fraud prevention to counter-terrorism.

Submit your 500-word abstract using the online submission form. All submissions must be received by February 15.

Notification of acceptance will be posted on the website by 10 March 2008.
Successful authors will then have until 15 April 2008 to submit their final manuscripts and register online.
