ProZone and Sony launched a CCTV installation at FA National Stadium in Wembley.
ProZone, which provides football performance and match analysis software to more than half of the UK’s football clubs, selected Sony’s IPELA products to be installed by SM Technology at the home of England’s national football team.
Eight Sony SNC-RX550P speed dome cameras were installed around the roof of the FA National Stadium in Wembley to simultaneously and accurately capture the movements of all 22 players. Unveiled during the first international match on the stadium’s new turf, between England and Germany, the technology enables England’s coaching team to analyse player performance.
Phil Tordoff, Head of Product Management and Strategy at ProZone said: "The cameras enable us to capture immediate and precise footage of players’ movements and performances. The intelligence features of the camera allow us to maximise viewing angles to provide more comprehensive visions to clubs across the country, while the remote management capabilities provide tailored monitoring and flexible lens positioning from our off-site offices, helping save significant time and money."
ProZone required a solution to capture players’ on-pitch movements with clarity in a variety of multi-dimensional views, with a system to accommodate both its existing analogue and purpose-built networks. Sony and SM Technology, which have worked together on a number of projects, including Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, met the criteria and offered the expertise to successfully install the solution, according to the firms.
What they say
Nathan Dervin, Managing Director, SM Technology said: "Having worked with the team previously, we knew Sony had the expertise to deliver a reliable product, along with the technological expertise to support the project. Having worked together on projects in the UK, continental Europe and the Middle East, we knew that Sony would deliver on time and on budget."
