US manufacturer Identix reports orders from the US Department of Defense (DOD) for 450 units of Identix’ new DFR 2080 single fingerprint reader.
The deployment, which supports personnel fingerprint enrollment and verification applications spearheaded by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), also includes a 500,000 BioEngine template license.
About the product
The new DFR 2080 is a fingerprint reader that delivers NIST compliant 500 dpi resolution and provides a digital USB output. Maintaining the imaging output that the Identix single fingerprint readers are known for, the DFR 2080 is suited for identity verification points such as border crossings, ID and payment processing centers, DMVs, social benefit distribution centers, employee registration, financial institutions, etc. The DFR 2080 is housed in a case that protects the scanner and is compatible with Identix’ BioEngine fingerprint recognition technology and/or with customer- provided applications.
