Drill Tool

by msecadm4921

Panasonic is adding to its Revolithium range of cordless power tools with the launch of the multi-function EY7840 14.4V Rotary Hammer.

It’s featuring lighter, longer-lasting Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries. Just the job for the busy trade professional, this tool means you can drill into concrete and masonry, or drill wood and metal, without having to change tools.

Weighing 2.3kg and 249mm in length, Panasonic call the new EY7840 one of the lightest and most compact rotary hammers on the market. It’s suitable for small and medium-sized anchor installations, such as interior finishes, fixing doors and windows, and electrical installations. The product runs on 3.0Ah Li-Ion batteries, which last up to 2.5 times longer than standard batteries, it is claimed. Discharged batteries can be fully charged in 50 minutes.

Panasonic say you get the convenience of cordless technology without compromising performance. The EY7840 has a hammering force of 21.6kN, which combined with 3,800 beats/minute is comparable to a corded tool. In addition, the tool’s electro-pneumatic hammering mechanism results in concrete drilling up to 16mm. For screw-driving applications, the EY7840 has a five stage torque clutch – a unique feature for Rotary Hammers. A bit-holder for 6.35mm hex shank bits is stored in the safety bar for quick and easy attachment.

The 14.4V EY7840 has a T-grip for one-hand operation with less fatigue. It has an integral fan and exhaust system to prevent potentially damaging particles from entering the motor. Available from tool distributors. For more information and a dealer locator, click on to:
