DVD2008 Show

by msecadm4921

Following the recent sale of DefenCell to the Irish Defence Force, J & S Franklin are exhibiting from their stand number BI-5 at DVD2008 organised by the UK Ministry of Defence.

DefenCell which is in service with the British Army in Afghanistan and the Irish Defence Force in Chad, will be displayed on the stand as a sangar defensive position.

Defencell is a cellular, deployable force protection system, that can be used in a variety of military and civil defence roles. These include walls, sangars, bunkers, roadways, vehicle barriers and flood protection. DefenCell adds that its ballistic qualities have been established through independent testing by Advantica and reports are available on request.

DefenCell offers a number of advantages over other Force Protection Systems, it is claimed; notably it is one-man portable and deployable, its weight (being up to 10 times lighter than comparable products), it requires five times less transport volume, and being non-metallic with no cages or hinges, there is no secondary shrapnel or communications interference. DefenCell is made in the UK. For further information, contact: www.franklin.co.uk
