DVR Launch

by msecadm4921

Honeywell has announced the Fusion III Digital Video Recorder (DVR) v3.6, the latest version of its Fusion III security DVR series.

The new addition to the Fusion range incorporates Fusion III hardware alongside new v3.6 firmware, which features IP camera integration, Smart Motion search technology and Microsoft Active Directory integration. The solution is the firm says suitable for organisations with extensive security networks such as banks, retail chains, education, healthcare and municipal environments.

The Fusion III v3.6 integrated camera discovery protocol increases operator efficiency it is claimed by enabling the Fusion III unit to discover all Honeywell IP (EQUIP) cameras on a network and add them from a single interface, simplifying a previously time-consuming task, according to the company. Handling of megapixel images is through incorporated camera-based “edge” motion detection and local Video Graphics Array (VGA) handling, which increases the volume of images processed while reducing Central Processing Unit (CPU) resources used.

The Fusion III v3.6 features Integrated Smart Motion search technology, offering a new way to view recorded motion levels and identify significant activity it is claimed. By referring to a line graph display of peak motion events recorded over a 24-hour period, operators can effectively “skip” through video footage and go directly to points in the recording where motion has reached the desired level of significance.

The inclusion of Microsoft Active Directory is enabling network administrators to manage Fusion users through Windows domain management tools, while eliminating the need for multiple log-ins by simultaneously connecting users to Fusion Video Management Software (FVMS) and Fusion remote applications upon initial sign-in to the network.

“As IP security grows across Europe, we are committed to providing the most advanced products and services,” said Chris Koetsier, Global Video Product Marketing Director, Honeywell Systems Group. “Version 3.6 of our popular Fusion III DVR range incorporates new innovative features designed to boost functionality and ensure the highest levels of security throughout any network in which Fusion III is integrated.”

The Fusion III v3.6 uses the latest IP technology to bridge the gap between analogue and digital systems, offering complete integration between the two formats. Configurable Camera Sabotage Detection (CSD) helps prevent sabotage by alerting users when a set percentage of the camera’s view is obscured, while scalable image size and Honeywell HJZTPX keyboard compatibility ensure ease of use.
