Electro-mechanical Operator

by msecadm4921

With 24v operation, the new B604 electro-mechanical operator from FAAC (UK) can be wall or pedestal mounted.

According to the company that provides automation of residential and commercial gates, doors and barriers, the product is suitable for low-use residential barriers. Installers have the option of three beam styles. Beam lengths can be modified to meet the specification.

A new addition to the range of FAAC barriers, the barrier can be specified with a telescopic beam extending from 1.5m to 3m, a 2.8 beam with integrated red LED lights along the length of the beam or an economy 3.8m lightweight beam. A balancing kit is available for the beams, allowing installers to cut the barrier to length on site. However, there is a minimal permissible length of 2.8m for the economy beam and 2.4m for the beam with integrated lights.

The B604 features push button set up with self-learning feature. The motor is contained within the head section which can be mounted on a conventional pedestal or fixed to the wall using the FAAC patented mounting bracket. A handing function makes the job of altering the handing from left to right quick and easy, it is claimed. Safety features fitted as standard include an integrated flashing light within the top of the housing and an optional battery back-up to ensure operation in the event of a power failure. An integrated encoder supplies constant movement and position control ensuring complete safety in the event of an obstacle being detected.
