Initial Security has been appointed preferred supplier to energy firm Centrica.

The five-year contract, managed by Mowlem, began on November 1 and sees around 270 Initial staff securing 27 locations around the UK.  Initial will provide a number of services to Centrica including front of house, post room and porterage.

According to the guard firm, Centrica was looking to consolidate its security across the UK and seeking a security solutions partner that would be able to combine manned guarding with what Initial calls innovative technology to create a secure workplace.
