Entry Level Video

by msecadm4921

Vista has released an entry level, two channel, compact SmartDisc to complement the SmartDisc range.

SmartDisc is suitable, it is claimed, as a tool for combined video alarm verification and remote-site monitoring with all the features of long-term digital recording. Designed primarily, according to the firm, with the security industry and BS8418 in mind, the SmartDisc range enables transmission of live and recorded video images and alarms. SmartDisc offers a range of features normally associated with much higher cost systems, it is claimed.

The built-in 120GB hard disk drive gives recording options. These include recording to schedule, such as out of office hours, motion activated recording and contacting recording such as when a PIR is tripped thus activating an alarm.

The Multi-Unicast and integrated web servers allow for multiple users to simultaneously access footage on the hard disk drive. This allows managers and other authorised staff to view live and recorded information at any time. Telemetry control also gives these users the ability to remotely move cameras and domes to cover specific views.

What they say

"The two channel SmartDisc is ideal for a huge range of applications, but especially for EPOS and ATM recordings," says Mark Pritchard, divisional director of Vista. "Here, data is overlayed on the video as text to ensure that the registered transactions taking place match the video footage." The unit also offers up to five privacy zones, ensuring that that privacy of others is protected.
