Event Expo Is On

Now on – the inaugural Event and Venue Security conference and exhibition at the QEII Centre in central London on April 18 and 19.

Michael Costain, Event Manager says: "This is the only security event in Europe addressing the specific concerns of the sports, entertainment, live music and security guarding sectors. EVS will deliver the latest information and education through the conference programme whilst the exhibition will be showcasing cutting edge products and services."

Delegates at the conference will hear about best practice security procedures, threat levels and new initiatives from a panel of international speakers including: Sir John Stevens, former Chief Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police; Prof Michael Clarke, International Policy Institute; Walter Gagg, Director for Stadia and Security, FIFA; Philippe Laflandre, VP of Risk Management at the Stade de France; Mark Briggs, Executive Director of Security at the Gillette Stadium, USA; Insp Mark Winchester of the City of London Police; and David Dickinson, Chief Executive of BSIA.

Case studies

The conference also features case studies, including Arsenal FC, Stade de France, Glastonbury Festival, Wimbledon and the Gillette Stadium as well as offering advice on dealing with security breaches, terrorist attacks and crowd control, the organisers add.
