TRIPWIRE is a single channel digital video event recorder designed to automatically record a series of still video frames for each event it detects. It is suitable for covert surveillance and applications requiring rapid deployment, the makers report. The product consists of a compact video capture unit, small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and a software operating programme that will enable it to operate on any USB-equipped PC or laptop computer. To install, the TRIPWIRE capture unit is connected to a computer at one end and at the other end to any video camera including covert cameras, internal or external CCTV cameras. Connections are supplied. Recording is activated by the integrated PATHFINDER video motion detection system and the recording function is set from the computer to either time-lapse or real-time recording.
