International Fiber Systems, a manufacturer of fibre optic transmission equipment, has introduced the VT1500WDM Pelco unit, a ?fibre-ready? adapter for Pelco camera domes.
Designed for the Pelco Spectra II or III series dome system, the miniature video transmitter and data receiver plugs into the dome?s data converter to change it from a standard coaxial connection dome to a fibre optic compatible dome using multimode fibre. The optical output of the dome then becomes compatible with a standard IFS receiver. The product allows simultaneous transmission of video and one-way data control over one optical fibre and supports the RS-422 data protocol that Pelco utilises for camera pan, tilt, and zoom control. Iain Deuchars, MD IFS (Europe), says: ?As more consultants and end-users recognise the operational and cost benefits of using fibre, we have seen demand for this type of product grow.?
