FV Relocate

by msecadm4921

Forward Vision CCTV Limited (Forward Vision) report that they are relocating their Centre of Excellence to new premises in Fleet, Hampshire.

The new facility will be dedicated to developing and supporting the company’s range of pan-tilt-zoom CCTV equipment and will house research and development, servicing, repairs, sales and marketing. Production will be moved to Derwent Systems Limited (Derwent) in Cramlington to maximise manufacturing efficiencies. The changes are expected to be complete by the end of November.

What they say

Extreme Group’s European managing director, Peter Beare said: "In a bid to improve efficiencies, quality and meet increased demand from customers we have chosen to centralise manufacturing facilities in Europe to one place that can provide the capacity required for the planned growth of Forward Vision’s ‘Metal Mickey’ products. At the same time, Derwent’s new Aegis range is increasing production. With growing production demands on both companies, we saw an excellent opportunity to concentrate production at our larger Derwent facility. Both companies are innovation and precision engineering-led, dedicated to advancing optical performance and integration with other technologies. They share the same quality ethos, so the only difference is that manufacturing will be under one roof, with all the associated economies of scale and simplified future scalability. Both companies will continue to develop their distinctive product ranges from their respective Centres of Excellence and the move will allow Forward Vision to concentrate on its core strengths of developing innovative products and supporting clients".

Moving Forward Vision’s manufacturing to Cramlington will not only strengthen both companies’ ability to meet increasing demand, the firms say, but drive down lead times for fulfilling orders and bringing new products to market. Some 13 positions will be lost at Forward Vision from the current manufacturing department, but six new positions are being created to cater for an enhanced product development, servicing and repair function at the new Centre of Excellence in Fleet.
