Police in Blackpool are appealing for information after a security guard was assaulted as he locked up a local park for the night.
At around 9:55pm on May 30, the guard was in the process of locking the gates to Louis Horrock’s Park on Lytham Road when he was approached by a man who challenged him about why he was doing so.
The man became abusive towards the security guard and pushed him backwards causing him to fall against the park’s railings before leaving the scene.
Police have issued a CCTV image (link below) of a man they wish to speak with in connection with the assault and are asking anyone who may recognise him to come forward.
PC Darren Chappell said, "It is thought that the offender had been in the ‘Dunes’ pub just before the offence and would have approached the park from that direction so I would appeal for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward if they have any information."
