by msecadm4921

Securicor Security has been called in to protect a golden boomerang estimated to be worth more than £50,000.

The boomerang is the star prize for a nationwide competition, The Hunt for the Golden Boomerang, launched by Boomerang Media through promotional marketing agency Swordfish, to run this summer. Douglas Greenwell, Marketing Director of Securicor Security said: "Our guards will accompany the boomerang when it is removed from its high security location to ensure its safe return." Made by Benney, goldsmiths to the Queen, the object is made from more than 1.1kg of 18 carat solid gold and contains over 350 diamonds set into the design. The public has a chance to win it by answering a series of riddles and questions.
