Net2Air is a new hands free product from manufacturers Paxton Access for users of the company’s Net2 network access control system.
Unlike conventional hands free access control systems that rely upon large readers to achieve a long read range, Net2Air achieves hands free access control with readers as small as the access control firm’s 38mm PROXIMITY P38 reader, it is claimed. Any P series readers installed to existing Net2 systems can be converted to ‘hands free’, the makers add. A feature of hands-free access control is its effectiveness in ensuring compliance with disability legislation. Net2Air achieves this without requiring all existing token users to switch over to hands-free operation, the makers add. Net2Air hands free keyfobs have a battery life of around five years when in average daily use, according to the firm. Adam Stroud, Paxton Access Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Net2AIR is ideal as a DDA compliance solution but will also appeal to users in many other environments. Consider a store or loading bay, for instance, where materials are frequently being moved. Presenting a token is at best inconvenient and at worst completely impractical in such warehouse and despatch areas. On the other hand, companies concerned about their image and prestige may find Net2AIR communicates precisely the kind of sophistication they wish to communicate to their employees and customers.”
