Installer Buy

by msecadm4921

Contract Fire Security (CFS), fire, safety and security installer, has acquired Premier Planned Maintenance (PPM) that trades as Fire & Safety Services.

According to the company, the purchase completes its most successful year and supports CFS’ goal to be the largest independent fire and security company in the UK. Last year, CFS recorded a 20 percent growth in turnover, increasing from £10.7 million to £13 million and has appointed 35 extra staff since August 2008. With this acquisition the firm now employs around 200 people.

Brothers and joint Managing Directors, Steven and Gary Quirke who established CFS in 1985 see this latest move supporting their plans to increase the density of clients across the UK. Steven Quirke said: "The acquisition means our engineers can focus on tighter geographical areas which will allow more time to service customers. CFS has expanded its range of services and we are passionate about offering the highest quality service and the right solutions to cover all areas of health, safety and security. For example, we have a strong blue chip customer base including high street retailers such as Sainsbury’s, Asda, Boots, House of Fraser and now with PPM we can add Fitness First and National Grid."

With the two organisations just five miles apart in Sutton Coldfield and Minworth on the outksirts of Birmingham, the integration of operations will be seamless, CFS adds.

Keith Holmes, former Managing Director of PPM and now Business Development Manager within CFS says: "It was the right time for us to be part of a bigger company which will allow more scope to increase services for existing customers. I have watched CFS go from strength or strength. Their future plans are exciting and something I am keen to be part of."

With PPM’s £3 million turnover and plans to increase CFS’ existing business to over £16 million in the next year, CFS is aiming for a £20 million turnover when the business celebrates its 25th year next May.

Gary Quirke adds: "We have been able to develop CFS through a strong, loyal senior management team, who are as passionate as we are to offer the highest level of professional services. In recent years we have expanded to meet changes in requirements. For example, our involvement in environmental good practice, which is recognised through ISO 14001 Environment, has offered leading edge solutions.

"The growth of CFS has been achieved by focusing on our vision to improve and provide clients with a total quality service that offers ultimate reassurance. In the last six months we have opened a new base in London with a team that can concentrate on the capital and provide added value to existing and new customers, likely to grow through work for the Olympics."
