Installer Scottish Communication Systems has opened a new office in the centre of Edinburgh.

Scottish Communication Systems has opened a new office in the centre of Edinburgh and is currently seeking workshop premises on the outskirts of the city. Paul Gibson, the managing director of the Perth-based communication and CCTV specialists, says the new operation in Edinburgh will provide a sales and service centre for the area and offer a springboard for longer term plans to open a similar site in Glasgow. Mr Gibson says: ?We already service a large number of companies in the Edinburgh area and it makes sense for us to have a sales office and workshop unit in the city.? The recently opened office in Rutland Square will be used by existing sales and administrative staff, but it is expected that the new workshop unit will create three or four new jobs, providing a facility for engineers to pre-build and test communication and CCTV equipment before supply and installation. Scottish Communication Systems customers in the Edinburgh area includeTelford College where there is an ongoing contract to maintain and improve its CCTV systems, with plans for a major upgrade. The company also has a rolling contract with the Scottish Rugby Union to renew surveillance camera systems at Murrayfield Stadium. Jim Haluch, head of marketing for Telford College, says of Scottish Communication Systems: ?They maintain all our systems and we?ve always been extremely pleased with the advice and level of service received from both management and technical staff. We regard Scottish Communication Systems as working partners.? Scottish Rugby Union deputy facilities manager, Mark Laidlaw, says: ?It is good to see Scottish Communication Systems establishing a base in Edinburgh. We have worked with them for a number of years and the upgrading of our systems at Murrayfield has proved a major benefit to us.? Scottish Communication Systems employs 18 staff, mostly based in Perth.
