Irish Installer Badge

by msecadm4921

In the Republic of Ireland, the Private Security Authority (PSA) has been consulting on its draft interim code of Practice for CCTV Installation.

The authority intends to start licensing in this area in the latter half of 2009. Then those contractors providing such a service will be required to comply. The PSA already badges secuerity guards and door staff, like the SIA does in the UK, but also intruder alarm installers. In 2008 to September the PSA had secured six prosecutions: four in the intruder alarm installer sector and two in the security guarding sector, for operating or advertising without the appropriate licence.
