Northumbria Police show a 14 month continuous reduction in total crime at the centre with crime falling month on month since February 2007.
This success is down to the strong partnership work between Gateshead Area Command, MetroCentre, Europa Security and tenants at the centre, with initiatives over the last year also contributing to the success.
