Mobile Surveillance

by msecadm4921

Wireless CCTV launched a mobile surveillance solution, the 3G MicroVue.

The unit that allows users to remotely control and monitor live and recorded evidential quality video footage from two separate cameras. The bidirectional audio option offers an additional range of possible applications such as eavesdropping, or remote assistance.

Camera inputs

The product has two camera inputs, a microphone and line input, a line output and additional connectors for telemetry, alarms, relay and power. The user can remotely control any camera with pan, tilt and zoom capabilities, using the WCCTV software from any laptop or PC. All units are supplied with a Compact Flash card providing evidential quality recording, the makers add. 3G mobile phone technology allows Wireless CCTV to offer virtually unlimited flexibility as to the deployment and monitoring of WCCTV devices, it is claimed.

Covert operations

The 3G MicroVue is suitable, it is claimed, for covert operations, where rapid installation and remote access are required. The compact dimensions even make it a feasible body-worn solution, since the unit and battery can be concealed in a rucksack. The unit can be added as a backup transmission device to any CCTV system, allowing access in the event of a network failure. The new unit can be integrated in vehicle-based solutions similar to the bespoke solutions that Wireless CCTV has recently provided to police forces and the Highways Agency. Since the launch of Wireless CCTV’s 3G product offering, local authorities and police forces around the UK have been using WCCTV 3G equipment in multiple overt and covert operations, the firm adds.
