As part of a security upgrade, NASDAQ recently completed the installation of Delta Scientific High Security Bollard Systems to protect roadways to its facilities.ÿ NASDAQ is employing Delta’s highest crash-rated bollard system which will stop and destroy the front suspension system, steering linkage, engine crank case and portions of the drive train of a 15,000 lb vehicle. David Dickinson, Delta Scientific Senior Vice President says: ?The NASDAQ Security Department must be congratulated for their foresight. They planned and implemented their security upgrade well over a year prior to September 11.ÿ The Delta systems are now up and operational when the threats to the people and facility are highest.? NASDAQ?s bollards are raised and lowered into the guard position by a remotely controlled precision power system.ÿUnder emergency conditions, they can be raised in as little as a single second.ÿCollaborating with a local prime contractor and installer, Delta Scientific supplied technical supervision services that included layout, construction supervision, final wiring, termination and system start-up.ÿDelta field engineers also provided operational and maintenance training to NASDAQ personnel.
