VisioWave SA, a Swiss company offering products for digital video over networks, reports that its US subsidiary in partnership with Siemens have been selected by New York City Transit for the first deployment phase of the digital video security systems.
NYC Transit’s Department of Subways chooses VisioWave for its transportation
network protection needs. Under terms of the agreement, VisioWave will provide a significant portion of the security components. The proposed solution is suited to mass transit needs and has fulfilled 100pc of the technical requirements during the evaluation process, according to VisioWave. The firm’s security solution offeres video streaming and storage, which are processed by VisioWave Evolution HD and Storage HQI RAID units.
The VisioWave Evolution HD system chosen by the New York City Transit was initially designed for one of VisioWave’s customers RATP (Paris subway stations and buses) which is deployed over an ATM network. “The New York City Subway is one of the most extensive and complex public transportation systems in the world, and we are pleased to have been chosen to participate in a such a significant project, we look forward to working with our partner Siemens on the integration and deployment of our unique security video solution.” says David Keene, General Manager of VisioWave in US.
