The chairman of Notts CCTV User Group, John Broomfield from Nottingham City Council, has organised a CCTV awareness event for senior and key police officers and senior and key local authority managers within Nottingham.
Organisers report that it will be based around the reccommendations of the National CCTV Strategy. The aim: to raise awareness at an operational level and to improve the partnership working arrangements and communication, between the Police and the LAs. Invited to speak are Garry Parkins – Consultant to the National CCTV Strategy; and Geoff Teale – National CCTV Strategy Project Manager at the NPIA – National Policing Imprvoement Agency. Host and CCTV manager at Newark and Sherwood District Council, Ian Harrison will discuss management issues. Cath Bannister, CCTV manager at Mansfield District Council and secretary of the Public CCTV Managers Association (www.pcma.org.uk) will give her experience of police and local authority joint working; as will Neil Williams – Divisional Intelligence Inspector A Division.
Speaking about Visual Images Identification and Detection Offices – Operation JAVELIN will be, from the Metropolitan Police, Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville and Detective Inspector Steve Hubbard.
The venue is Kelham Hall, Newark and Sherwood District Council offices, in Newark on Monday September 22.
