Eleven JVC TK-676E dome cameras are to be installed in to the Main Press Centre (MPC) auditorium at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

These cameras will be used to co-ordinate international media coverage and will be linked via a computer controlled multilingual conference system designed and manufactured by Auditel.ÿThe JVC cameras will be installed by AUDIO BRAIN SA, Auditel’s representative in Greece.ÿThis is the first time in which JVC’s dome camera technology has been used for the Olympics.
ÿ
Automatically controlled, these dome cameras will be integrated within a system of 800 customised fitted units each comprising a microphone, microphone controls, electronic voting system, identity card reader and languages selector.ÿ Ziad Loutfi, sales director of Auditel says: ?We wanted cameras that were very easy to install and compatible with our system’s requirements with regard to good speed, zoom, pan and tilt capabilities. JVC’s cameras are perfectly designed to be installed and set up around the auditorium and have a splendid ability to zoom into a press member seated in one of 800 seats where images can be instantly displayed.?
