Park Award

by msecadm4921

In Grimsby the car park at Freshney Place Shopping Centre has gained the Park Mark safer parking award from the British Parking Association.

Almost 14m people visited the centre last year, and none of them reported any problems with their cars whilst they shopped.

Police Inspector Tracy Bradley, of the Grimsby Central and South Division, said: “People want to know they can come and shop in safety, and this award is independent confirmation that they can be assured of that when they come here,” she said. “The town centre is the heart of Grimsby. Making it safe and secure means we can build trust. After all, great deal of money has been spent improving the town, and we want to do everything we can to keep it looking good.”

Freshney Place Centre Manager Mandy Loose added: “Grimsby is a great place to be, and we want to do everything we can to support efforts to keep it that way. Winning the Park Mark is public recognition that we won’t tolerate bad behaviour on our premises – and that makes the centre a better place to be for shoppers and shop staff alike.

“We often have very positive feedback from shoppers about our car park staff. Alan, Sean and Robert are great ambassadors for the centre, and have every right to be proud of helping the centre win this national recognition.”
