Border security is the subject of a conference on March 4 and 5, at the Marriott Hotel Warsaw, in Poland.

Organisers SMi say that the Border Security 2009 conference will examine the latest polices and procedures from international border security agencies, nations and border police.

Piracy is the subject for Captain Pottengal Mukundau, Director, ICC International Maritime Bureau.

Keynote addresses are from: Brigadier General Ilkka Laitinen, Executive Director, Frontex; and Lieutenant Colonel John ’Theo’ Dressler, Chief, Border Security Operations Branch and Deputy Director, National Guard Current Operations Group – Operation Jump Start, National Guard Bureau, USA.

UK speakers include: Ian Neill, Deputy Director, e – Borders Programme, UK Borders Agency; and Detective Superintendant Neil Winterbourne, SO15 Ports Policing, Metropolitan Police
