PMs Secure Night

by msecadm4921

ICTS provided canine specialist protective services for West Oxfordshire District Council who hosted the election night count in now Prime Minister David Cameron’s Witney constituency.

The purpose was to add an extra layer of security and search capability during this time of heightened alert. ICTS Canine Division have an Oxfordshire operational base at Didcot, providing service to a wide range of clients such as the nuclear industry, sporting locations ,the transport sector, exhibition and conference centres.

John Franklin-Webb for ICTS Canine Division said: ‘Following on from Mr Cameron’s attendance at the official launch of our RASCargO aviation screening services. speaking exactly one year on from the 7/7 atrocities in central London, David Cameron said “The fight against terrorism isn’t just about the police service. All businesses and companies involved with security and transport, as well as local Government and individual citizens, have a huge role to play.”

ICTS dog teams and handlers are trained to (ACPO) Association of Chief Police Officers standards at Police regional dog schools thus ensuring the same level of capability as serving police officers, the contractor says. ICTS are deployed in co-operation and in support of police operations to complement existing measures. This also acts as a high profile deterrent to hostile reconnaissance.

ICTS operate in 26 countries providing security personnel and specialist services primarily working in aviation.

Bill Oddy, Head of Community Services for West Oxfordshire District Council said "On election night ICTS assisted our security operations at the count venue by providing search dogs for hand held items. It was important to select a provider trained to operate to ACPO standards. ICTS also has many years experience in counter terrorism, often working in the aviation environment the most highly regulated ‘security space’ in the world. West Oxfordshire District Council encourages working in partnership with the private sector providing they can demonstrate a high level of expertise, delivery, experience and professionalism particularly in such a sensitive role."
