Devon and Cornwall Constabulary has burglary advice packs and a community police car sponsored by installer ADT.
The burglary advice packs will be given to victims of domestic burglary and tir immediate neighbours in Devon and Cornwall. Research carried out by Devon & Cornwall Constabulary has suggested that 96 per cent of people who have received the packs – which contain a marker pen to record property, basic crime prevention advice, stickers and information on victim support – have improved their home security as a result of the advice offered.
What they say
Martin Harvey, General Manager of ADT’s Plymouth branch, said: "ADT is pleased to support Devon & Cornwall Constabulary by funding the burglary advice packs. They will give valuable advice to both the victims of crime and their immediate neighbours, as studies have shown that the nearest eight dwellings to a burgled house are more susceptible to future break-in attempts."
The security firm also donated a police car which will help police visit more people to offer crime prevention advice and support to victims, especially relating to burglary and anti-social behaviour incidents.
