Recorders On Show

by msecadm4921

Mitsubishi Electric are among exhibitors at the Norbain LIVE roadshows this month.

Following on from last year’s event, Mitsubishi report they are looking forward to exhibiting their products, which will include two new ones, the DX-TL430E and the DX-TL5000E.

The DX-NT430E is the latest four-channel digital recorder from Mitsubishi Electric, which can accommodate up to two hard drives; they are not supplied with the unit allowing users to suit their own requirements. This model is equipped with features very similar to the DX-NT400E, including a HDD caddy which is not only removable but interchangeable meaning that recording can be removed and stored for evidence purposes; simultaneous recording and playback is available via the built-in full duplex facility and up to five selectable picture grades and nine recording time modes with up to 25 pictures per second per camera.

The key feature, says the firm, is the Network PC Software DX-PC25E (A) which is built into the DX-NT430E, making it suitable for banking applications such as ATM security. Using this software and the built-in web server for remote monitoring, banks can use the DX-NT430E for transaction searches on their cashpoint machines, particularly useful if a card is stolen; but also if an incident occurs at the cashpoint, it can be used for evidence purposes. Mitsubishi’s latest high-end 16 channel digital recorder the DX-TL5000E has a recording rate of upto 200 pictures per second and a viewing rate of 800 pictures per second. Multiple HDD options are available as well as additional HDD trays, which can be purchased separately, maximising recording capacity. The DX-TL5000E also features triplex recording, JPEG 2000 compression, a dual multiplexer function, full networking capability , DVD/CD copy function, covert camera function, dual mulitplexer outputs, multi-channel audio recording, motion detection, advanced search functions, individual recording setting, cascading connections and graphical user interface menus including a mouse enabled help function.

Also on display will be the DX-TL950E, a nine channel digital recorder which offers the choice of 250Gb or 500Gb HDD capacity, with the facility to export data to a CompactFlash card. This recorder can record up to 50pps per camera enabling users to optimise storage capacity, according to the firm. The DX-TL950E also includes a built-in motion detection function and built-in full duplex function. Date, time, camera, alarm and index search facilities provide a variety of monitoring levels and in addition the DX-TL950E also benefits from dual video output, which offers multi-split screen and sequence displays.

With full networking capabilities, remote monitoring and control can be achieved on the DX-TL950E allowing users to view either live or recorded images on a PC via network software or a webserver. The images can be viewed on either a full or split screen and search and playback functions are also available. The networked PC will allow users to control the recorder over the network, and will send notification should a malfunction occur; a password control can also be set-up to ensure that only authorised personnel have access, eliminating the need for site visits.

Mitsubishi’s current 16-channel recorder the DX-TL2500E, will also be on display and is available in 250Gb, 500Gb or 750Gb internal memory capacity and has the option to add 12Tb externally. The built-in motion detection, which allows the level of camera motion sensitivity to be selected, also provides greater efficiency to maximise potential recording time. The built-in full duplex facility allows any or all of the 16 camera sources to be displayed live in various formats, played back on a connected PC or for advanced searches to be executed whilst full data recording continues. There are upto five selectable picture grades and nine recording time modes, allowing for a variety of monitoring levels.

The DX-TL2500E also has a CompactFlash slot, which allows the saving onto CompactFlash card of images and video clips, as well as product configurations – useful in situations where a number of recorders are to be set up, the makers say. Remote monitoring and control of these recorders can be carried out through a central networked PC, eliminating the need for continual site visits.

Mitsubishi will also display examples of their time-lapse VCRs, the range includes:

HS-1024E – Mitsubishi’s hugely popular 24 hour VHS TLVCR; HS-1096E – 24 hr real time / 96 time-lapse VHS machine; HS-1168E – 168 hour VHS time-lapse VCR; and HS-S8300E – 960 hour S-VHS TLVCR offering a resolution in excess of 400 TV lines. To further complement Mitsubishi’s security equipment on display will be the CP910E, a A6 high-speed colour dye sublimation printer, which can print photo quality captured images in a matter of seconds. Also, the CCD-430EW colour video camera, which in spite of its compactness produces high quality, images with 430 horizontal scanning lines. The high gain circuitry allows the camera to operate at just 1 Lux. This camera is suitable for security surveillance, monitoring and analysing on production lines, and can also be used as a scanning camera in various fields.

Norbain LIVE 2004 roadshows take place on the following dates: September 14 – Celtic Park, Glasgow, then 16th – JJB Stadium, Wigan; 21st – Pavilions of Harrogate, Leeds; 23rd – Wolverhampton Racecourse, Wolverhampton; 28th – Alexandra Palace, London; and 30th – Chepstow Racecourse, Chepstow.
