GE Interlogix Video Systems Group has released its new single-channel video digital recorder (VDR).
According to the US firm it lets users replace outdated analog videotape recorders at VCR-equivalent pricing. The new VDR records standard-, medium-or high- resolution pictures to its removable 160 GB hard disk drive, according to the firm. The inexpensive recorder simply plugs into any existing VCR application and provides built-in multiplexer compatibility. It even provides familiar VCR-like controls and features while eliminating the problems of tapes.
What they say
Darren Nicholson, GE Interlogix Video Systems Group vice president marketing, says: ?This is our most economical digital recorder ever. Now, any business owner can afford the benefits of digital recording. After a speedy swap out, replacing their VCR with a VDR, users enjoy quick searches, increased image quality and the other benefits of digital recording at a new low cost. They can eliminate the hassles of tape forever.? According to Nicholson, GE Interlogix engineers took features out of the company’s DSR-2000e digital recorder, used by retailers, government facilities and other security implementers, and refined them to create a unit with a new baseline price. Nicholson adds: ?The result is a very robust, inexpensive video digital recording solution for any type of business.” The new VDR records live images up to 60 pictures per second. It is also programmed with common time-lapse speeds. The VDR also provides record resolutions of 720 x 576 in PAL format and 720 x 484 in NTSC or better. Upon pressing the search button, the user follows on-screen menus to specify a combination of date or time to instantly play desired video on a monitor. Visit www.GE-Interlogix.com
