TETRA At BAPCO

by msecadm4921

Motorola is showcasing TETRA devices and mobile broadband at BAPCO 2008.

The telecoms firm says that the wireless voice and data solutions will show how public safety can be better supported and the ways emergency service teams can benefit from next generation wireless infrastructure.

At BAPCO, Motorola will highlight recent case studies, including Dorset Police, demonstrating how the integration of wireless technology with TETRA networks can boost security and enable real-time communications. The wireless broadband network trialled by Dorset shows how a mobile video and data network can be quickly deployed for specific, high-risk security situations or events.

“The combination of our development in robust emergency service devices together with fixed and wireless infrastructure will enable the public safety industry as a whole to communicate and share intelligence like never before,” commented Iain Clarke, sales director Western Europe, Government & Public Safety Business, Motorola EMEA.

Motorola will be sharing new developments such as data over TETRA with TETRA Enhanced Data Service (TEDS), in addition to the new applications enabled on the devices. The TETRA devices range from standard terminals to ‘special use’ devices such as PDAs (for secure data applications), covert TETRA radios and a TETRA ATEX device for safe use in explosive environments.
