Trailer Anti-siphon

by msecadm4921

Fowler Welch Coolchain Ltd have fitted their fleet of vehicles with the ‘Easy-Fit Float Chamber’ fuel anti-siphon device from TISS Trailer Security.

Fowler Welch Coolchain Ltd’s National Fleet Manager, Robert Oliphant said: “Upon fitting the TISS anti-siphon, we were very pleased to see an almost immediate improvement on the vehicles‚ MPG performances.”

The improved miles per gallon, say the product firm, is a result of the product’s ‘Float Chamber’ which prevents fuel being siphoned from the tank even if it is completely full. The device works because the float valve allows fuel to flow in but does not allow siphoning out as the valve locks off when the tank is full. Lancashire-based TISS report that they have sold more than 7,000 units. Mr Oliphant adds: “ We found the device easy to fit; and are now achieving significant fuel savings across the total vehicle fleet.”

TISS Sales Director, Ryan Wholey, adds how the Float Chamber system can improve MPG figures by as much as 1mpg per vehicle: “Its design eradicates ‘skimming’ of the top few centimetres of fuel; a practice that accounts for 99 per cent of fuel theft from HGVs. Since fitting the anti-siphon some of our customers have reported reductions in their fuel bills of up to 6 per cent which is a major cost saving.” TISS adds that it has sold anti-siphons to companies including Exel, Christian Salvesen and James Nuttall. These include sales of TISS‚s new ‘Standard EasyFit’ anti-siphon which can be fitted in less than one minute, it is claimed. The firm also sells other security systems including GPS trailer tracking, trailer alarms and slash-resistant curtains. For details ring 01253 400 401.
