The University of Glamorgan has had an upgrade of their ageing CCTV system, with the help of consultants Global MSC Security (MSC).
The system has used IP addressability to provide quality and responsive video images, accessible from anywhere in the campus. MSC made a risk assessment of the campuses at Pontypridd.
Dave Mann, the client Facilities and Security Manager said: "The previous system was old and did not provide a robust and adequate service required by the University. The new system has not yet been handed over, and yet it has already contributed to solving two incidents of criminal activity. The performance is down to an excellent client brief, a well specified system, the correct choice of manufacturers, in Bosch, and a great delivery of service by the local installation company CDS."
CDS (Computerised & Digital Security Systems Ltd) based in Pontypridd. are suppliers and installers of CCTV and access control. They installed the Bosch products in the timescale set by the client following a tender process. The university adds that it welcomes an appointment via CDS or directly to visit and discuss the system benefits.
